Biographical Information
Dr. David J. Ahearn began his study of dental productivity and ergonomics in 1989 when he began to experience physical symptoms that increased in severity as his practice grew. Assembling a team of ergonomists from NASA and engineers from MIT, he began a pioneering analysis of the interconnections between practice type, equipment, operator performance and health. Dr. Ahearn’s office now ranks in the top 1% of dental practices nationwide. To convey his path-breaking discoveries, he founded Design/Ergonomics in 1998. As a practicing dentist, he continues to put these principles through rigorous tests each and every day in the real world conditions of his practice.
